I met Robert Schwartzman (aka Michael Moscovitz) at a Rooney after party in college. What’s the first thing that pops out of my totally uncool 19 year old mouth?? “I LOVED YOU IN PRINCESS DIARIES!”

Yeah. whoops. A tip for meeting rockstars: never mention their foray into Disney films.

Oh well. He was still really hot and nice in person, and thankfully he forgave my word vomit.

I was just about to say that Michael Moscovitz is the lead signer of Rooney…which coincidentally enough is named after the principle from “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off”…my all-time favorite movie. Rooney is amazing.

None of these comments make sense to me because the Princess Diaries are printed under different titles in New Zealand, but Mia Thermopolis has been my favourite fictional character for more than half my life.

And I loved how she actually became friends with Lana in the later books. That’s just one cool thing that Meg Cabot did that stood out to me. ONE OF MANY.

Also, up until the 10th book, I had no desire to own these books (and I pretty much want to own every book I even kind of like), but after the Central Park scene, well. Let’s just say I wished I lived close enough to work so I could walk & spend my gas money on important things, like owning every single one of these books.
