erin – phoebe is mainly marissa cooper circa season 1, so not too bad. and i am happy to report (and will in more detail next week) that the next book is even better and it’s good to read this one first, even tho it’s a bit young, because it gives you a good perspective on the fam.

and i’ll never be convinced any graduation is a good one except high school and college. kindergarten?! i’ve heard of these things. will it be bad if when my son is in kindergarten, i refuse to participate? probably. sigh.

Jenny is right, we celebrate the stupidest things up here including: my preschool graduation, kindergarten, fifth grade, eighth grade, hebrew school in 7th grade, hebrew high school in 11th grade, and high school. also, my hs graduation party was at pizzeria uno… best party ever.

I had a grade eight graduation and “prom”, but that’s because our schools go from kindergarten to grade eight, and then grade nine to grade twelve. So basically, you’re graduating from one school to the next, rather than from a grade.

And now I, too, have The OC stuck in my head =P The book sounds cute, at least, and I’ll have to check it out.

My Super Sweet 16 is my jam. I love that show. It makes me feel like a better person x2!! because A) I’m not a bratty child and B) I’m not a fawning parent! But the celebrity version of MSSS is weak sauce – I’m not interested in seeing people who’ve earned their own money spend it!!

Um, sorry, Phoebe from Lucky, I bet you’re very nice but now that I have Marissa Cooper in my head, I’m afraid I can’t give you a fair shake. Because she is Evil.

It’s nice to hear of YA books with at least one truly good parent! Yay for that! I, too, am dumbfounded by the WTFery of 8th grade graduations. But it gets worse, y’all. Up here, they jr. high graduations, middle school graduations, elementary school graduations and KINDERGARTEN graduations! And I’m talking parties, caps and gowns, photos, the whole bit. Ridunculous.
