Katie I was just waiting for someone to bring up Finnick. I completely agree with you! Haha, still though I like Peeta. If Gale shows up more in MJ then I’d be more willing to change my mind, but so far we basically know he’s like Katniss’ only friend. I don’t think that’s enough to determine he’d be good for her.

y’all, i like a brooding mysterious loner dude as much as the next gal, but Gale just isn’t doing it for me. as someone above pointed out, he just simply hasn’t been in the books enough for us to judge whether or not he’d be a good b/f for Katniss. i feel like i haven’t witnessed enough interaction between the two of them. i call for MORE KISSING!! yes, more kissing scenes between both Katniss & Gale AND Katniss & Peeta. i mean, all in the name of research, y’know?

I agree with Kevin that Peeta’s obviously not the pansy that some seem to think. Actually, he’s pretty bad-ass. He’s the one who yelled at Katniss (and Haymitch) in CF and told her that it was stupid and rude to leave him out of everything. This was following by chucking a lamp at someone.

But, I still think he’s going to die in CF. In fact, I don’t count on him making it out of whatever hell-hole he’s been walled up in at the end of CF.

That doesn’t make me Team Gale, though.

Team Finnick, all the way. Now that’s one bad-ass dude.

first of all, katniss’s love for peeta was forced. remember she even pushed him when he made the announcement that he was supposedly in love with katniss?

and anyways in catching fire, katniss already chose gale. she chose gale and leaving behind and causing a rebellion.
gales’s and katniss’s paths always cross. their dads boyh die in the same minig accident. they both live in seam. and they both hunt illegally

gale has always been there for katniss.

I agree with Jenny – my current theory after CF is that Gale will think Peeta is necessary as the face of the new revolution because of his TV skills and he will somehow die in order to save Peeta. And I think Gale would be fine with that.

I think Gale is a big-picture kind of guy, and Katniss is also more into the big picture as well. I’m not sure there’s been enough attention given to the fact that Katniss and Gale are about 90% anti-relationship, anti-marriage, etc. and even pointedly not having sex because, hello, sex leads to children who will then someday be at risk for the Hunger Games (not to mention the craptacular lives awaiting them in District 12 in general). Due to this I’m not sure I think Gale would want a relationship with Katniss. The revolution is on its way and he has bigger fish to fry.

I don’t know about Peeta being a pansy. The Gamemakers gave him an 8, which doesn’t seem like a pansy score considering Katniss’s 11 was tops. Then he got injured in his first fight, which was against Cato, the biggest beast of the games, but still managed to survive. Thresh was not so lucky, nor was the boy who rewired the landmines and had his neck snapped like a twig. The fact is, in a crapsack world like this, it’s pretty hard to be a pansy since pansies are usually going to end up dead.

Not to mention that Peeta is 16 when the series starts, and all three of them are essentially still fairly shy teenagers as concerns such matters. Probably his love was a good deal of infatuation, but that’s how kids are (I’m a teacher and I see it all the time).

I also don’t get where this impression of Gale comes from. The fact is, we just haven’t seen enough of him to make a judgment on what kind of romantic partner he’d be.
