I personally like gale better, but for Katniss i think she should be with Peeta because she has this really weird shit going on with gale plus peeta is just better for her. But i would pick gale. Just saying.

gale doesnt even like katniss for real he just thinks he does because everyone else thinks he does. for instance when my sister lost her tooth she didnt notice or care untill someone asked her if she was okay assuming she was hurt, then she cried like a baby. It says countless times in the books that gale is like an older brother to katniss, nothing else. if peeta hadnt set up the whole love story thing to keep them alive, gale would just be rooting for katniss to come home and when she did things would go back to normal, no romance. but since peeta did set up the romance deal with katniss, gale got all offensive. its pretty selfish actually. Another point is that gale cares more about the rebellion than katniss. katniss asked him to run away and he said yes, but then once he figured out that there was a chance of rebellion he changed his mind. Some of you might say oh well acctually in the first book he asked her to run away with him. damn right he did. at that point in the book he saw no hope of a rebellion suceeding. gales the kind of person that cant ever have enough. when the next best thing shows up he drops whatever he has, no hesitation. sure thats good to have some of that quality but he has too much. you need a balance. I think katniss knows this trait of gales at it makes it harder for her to choose peeta. she knows that if she chooses gale, and let peeta know that she really loves gale, he would accept it but still stick around and be her friend because he acctually truly cares for her. she knows that if she chooses peeta, gale will leave, even if it breaks her to pieces. if she doesnt devote herself to him, hes gone. most of the gale fans base thier argument on that he is hot and strong. same goes the majority of girls that i know, and you know what happens when they choose the guy based soley of appearance? the guy srews them over because they know they will always have a chance at the next best thing. screw gale and everything he stands for

quote from mockingjay sorry gale supporters but this was written by the writter herself and it’s kind of pointless arguing with the writter because she is pretty much the god of this story, she made it happen and if she favorited peeta is for a reason and she made it pretty clear why peeta was better for katniss and they are not shallow reasons such as gale is hotter

I think our world is so temporary, so full of pain, it numbs you into accepting that epic love doesn’t exist. 90210 booty-calls are our new fairytales. And prince charming? Well … he’s not so much “charming” as a macho, self important asshole who looks pretty when he’ s pouting.

Peeta love Katniss. Not the bullshit kind of 90210 love that most of us know, but the REAL love… the forever kind. It happens. It just doesn’t happen often. A man who allows a woman to take everything from him, and be at peace with it as long as she is happy.

Gale is reality for most of us. PEETA is the dream.

I want the dream.

HAHAHA that just made my day, i was seriously thinking the same exact things when reading this book. as a female i would be more attracted to the gale character but whatever collins make her end up with peeta. i still LOVE this series though!

I think Gale and Peeta were nothing more than representations of the two sides of Katniss. By picking Peeta, she embraced the softer side of herself. She was tired of being consumed by the fire. Anyone who has held hatred in their hearts knows how this feels. That being said, you are not giving Peeta the credit he deserves for his cunning and astuteness. He used his mind and intelligence, not his brawn. There is something to be said for using one’s mind instead of brute force, and I believe this was one of the main themes Collins was trying to underscore in the novel in relation to war vs peace.

Hmmmm…Gale is definitely the man’s man. The type I dated my whole life – athletes, cops, etc. Love to those men is about being physical (satisfying themselves, not you), and not emotional connections, friendship, comfort. They really do think having sex is how to show love. You all are probably too young to understand. Specific to the book, I think the connection with Peeta is more real, being in the games together. Dying for one another. Don’t forget Peeta was the first one to almost die helping Katniss run away. That is real bravery to me. Not hunting, or acting macho, or being jealous and treating her in a mean and indifferent way after she came back from the games. Little men do that. Those that are big outside but small inside. So yes, on the outside, man’s man. On the inside insecured and selfish. If he was a real man’s man, he would have been selfless and told Katness to hook up with Peeta if that meant surviving the game. But instead he acted horribly toward her and made her feel guilty because of what happened in the games. True, Peeta is really more of a liability and it is annoying. I probably would never have dated him in real life. I seem to have only dated guys who are hot and masculine, but selfish and insecured inside. But in a romantic novel, Team Peeta all the way.
