I find myself far more willing to watch schlock that ruins my favorite books on planes than I would in the theater. Although the truth is, I am always highly skeptical of movies based on books and I generally hate all of them until they are proven awesome. I had no interest in seeing The Time-Traveler's You-Know-Who, and turns out, I was right! The key is also to only watch these movies on planes.
