When I was in London, they had ads for New Moon in the tube stations. A lot of the New Moon posters had lipstick kisses all over Edward. That's when I knew this Twilight craze had gone too far. I mean thousands upon thousands of people travel the tube station and people are so consumed with their obsession with Edward that they forget this and must risk disease to kiss him.

lilah, you are totes correct. it's all about the over-marketing and over-merchandising and ugh to the UGH POWER.

although i do like the idea of twilight action figures existing, just so robot chicken can make something hilarious with them.

I'm a fan of the Twilight stuff, but seriously. This is a bit much. The reason I think people are inclined to hate Twilight is because of how over-marketed it was. When I first started reading it, I liked it because it was un-cool, you know? Y'all can blame Catherine Hardewick.

And may I add: TWILIGHT ACTION FIGURES. AND THE BARBIES. WTH.
I'm sorry, but anyone who buys those creepy hunks of plastic...oh, there are no words for them.

OK. That is by far the creepest thing I have seen. Why would people want that?

In college we actually had a cardboard cutout of Enrique Iglesias cause my friend got it for free somewhere. We would put it in the corner of the room for parties and people would get totally freaked out. And never under any circumstance would this cut out be put in the bedroom. living room fun, bedroom..stalker.

GACK! That is terrifying! It seriously gave me the wiggins. I, too, had Star Wars cut-outs: C3p0 and R2d2. Not creepy at all! Adorbs!

UGH, I hate this so much. It's not enough that Edward Cullen is teaching a world of young girls that stalking and obsessive behavior is romantic, but now we have a VISUAL REMINDER OF THIS?

I once had a cardboard cutout of Spike from Buffy, purchased on a whim as a joke. It was creepy. I ended up using it as a hatrack.

Oh, and just one more thing: the pairing of "Be Safe" with the creepy, hulking shadow? Mixed message much?

Okay, yeah, I had a Han Solo standee that I would place in conspicuous spots around the house, but eventually always ended up just scaring myself.
That up there is just....gross is the only word that comes to mind. Does it remind anyone else of the trailer for the original "When A Stranger Calls"? I guess since it's just a silhouette, it's supposed to be tasteful, for the "mature" Twilight fan.
And okay, so we do have an Edward Cullen poster that moves from room to room in our apartment, but it was free, has a Karl Marx mustache, and we write notes on it to each other as a joke.... so not creepy... right?
